Below is an well written Op-Ed piece “When Children Are Traded,” by Nicholas D. Kristof, published on November 20, 2013 in the New York Times. It is reproduced in full without editing. Although normally focuses on the positive side of adoption, it is important to see the negative side as well, and use it to not only protect ourselves as adoptive parents from situations into which we might innocently be drawn, but most importantly, to protect the children in these scenarios.
